Welcome to Low Nest Farm Guest Accommodation, Lake district, Cumbria.
ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT: -
At Low Nest Farm B&B we aim to achieve sustainable environmental improvement.
To achieve this, we have implemented a number of measures as follows:-
We use of household cleaning products that do not harm the environment.
We encourage the efficient use of energy and water throughout the household. (Guest towel policy, dual flush toilets and notices highlighting the water supply is from a local spring and the supply is limited)
We have recently installed a log burning ESSE cooker and boiler, which is fully utilised in all our food preparation and significantly, contributes to the heating and hot water requirements of the premises.
All radiators are fitted with thermostatic temperature controls
All light fitting are fitted with low energy long life bulbs.
Recycling a variety of household products including glass, paper,
cans, Cardboard, plastic and food waste.
Promoting a no smoking environment for the benefit of our guests.
We provide guests with maps and information for local walks from
the doorstep, ranging from a gentle stroll to the stone circle to the accent of Helvellyn.
Guests are encouraged to leave the cars here and enjoy the local walks.
A symbol of our commitment is our membership of the Cumbria Business Environment Network. Under this scheme we aim to achieve a Bronze Award and are working towards our Silver.
We also have a range of environmental practises, from saving water by having "towel agreements" with our guests to providing bins for waste i.e. cans, plastic, glass and paper.
This is an ongoing initiative to which we hope our guests will respond.
